recent collaborations include projects with breaking the binary theatre, concord theatricals/sam french, the national alliance for musical theatre, the tank, paper mill playhouse, mcc theater, atlantic theater company, new york city center, la jolla playhouse, new york philharmonic, bang on a can, and nyu. they have assisted and been the associate of directors such as billy porter, laurie woolery, rebecca taichman, and anne kauffman. she has also served as a guest director in nyu mfa seminars led by oskar eustis, suzan-lori parks, and lucas hnath. in 2019, ash was named the inaugural directing apprentice at new york city center for their encores! off-center season.

with a lexicon ranging from musical theatre to trans & queer theory to brecht, ash relies on a fiercely diversified and collaborative approach. their work aims to serve as a gateway into human vulnerability—simultaneously seeking the intimate and epic in all forms of storytelling.
